Child Support Handbook

The Office of Child Support Enforcement, along with Arkansas Child Support Clearinghouse, published a Handbook that will help answer questions about the child support process.

Standard Visitation

Every County has a standard visitation schedule that is used in many cases involving visitation. You can find the Standard Visitation Schedules for Benton and Washington Counties below.

Confidential Information Sheet

If you decide to file a new case or re-open a case, you will need to complete a Confidential Information Sheet. This will keep the child/children’s sensitive information (Date(s) of Birth, Social Security Number(s), etc.) confidential.

Child Support

When determining the amount of Child Support that will be paid, each party will typically be required to complete an Affidavit of Financial Means. This document will list out your income, expenses, assets, debts, etc., and can be used to determine child support and alimony amounts. If your case involves child support, you will complete an Affidavit of Financial Means and then Review the completed document with Micah.

Once an affidavit of Financial Means has been obtained from the opposing party, those will be used to input data into the Child Support Calculator to determine the amount of child support that will be paid and by whom.

Parenting Classes

In certain circumstance, the Court may order a parent to complete parenting classes or order both parents to attend co-parenting classes together. While there are many organizations that offer such, Childcare Aware of NWA, located in Rogers, offers these classes for free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Play Therapy

For some cases, it will be recommended that your child or children attend Play Therapy. This may even be Court Ordered. Play Therapy is a type of therapy that accounts for a child’s unique developmental level and identifies issues and ways to help the child navigate difficult circumstances through a child’s first language - PLAY! During a Play Therapy session, a licensed mental health professional will use therapeutic play to help their clients express themselves and resolve problems more effectively. Play therapy is most often used in children ranging between the ages of 3 and 12 years old. You can learn more about Play Therapy by clicking the link below.
